Print Server Mystery

What I'm wondering is where exactly this document is hiding. It doesn't appear in the cups queue in var, we cleared all the binary files manually. Also, to confirm this the print job does not print while the ethernet is unplugged. It's not on the machine that sent the print job, that machine is turned off. http://stricklandresearch.net/print-server/print-server-linksys-epsx3-print-problem.html

Doing a factory reset, leaving it unplugged overnight, and doing several manual 'reset print service' on the printers managment page has no effect. Once you plug it in the printer says 'network busy', starts printing, then freezes and shows the RIP error. share|improve this answer answered Oct 8 '09 at 19:16 Josh Budde 2,295107 add a comment| Your Answer draft saved draft discarded https://forums.techguy.org/threads/print-server-mystery.325198/

The document tries to print each time we reboot the printer. The print job is not being stored in the printer memory. more stack exchange communities company blog Stack Exchange Inbox Reputation and Badges sign up log in tour help Tour Start here for a quick overview of the site Help Center Detailed

Reconnect the network cable-see if it starts spooling up. RIP printers do a lot of weird things with spooling.

On the OS X server if you do lpstat -t at the command line, the troublesome job doesn't appear at all? Papercut is used to charge people for printing. Actually the print queue has been paused and empty, yet the document is sent to the printer repeatedly. https://community.spiceworks.com/topic/962507-mystery-print-job Join them; it only takes a minute: Sign up Here's how it works: Anybody can ask a question Anybody can answer The best answers are voted up and rise to the

It doesn't appear to be in the print queue on the server. Someone sent a problem document to a printer, which caused the printer to give a RIP error and completely freeze. If it doesn't, its certainly not in CUPS.
