I will answer myself Did a little Googleing and found the Sourceforge homepage for Smart BootManager at http://sourceforge.net/projects/btmgr/ It worked like a charm! You can't do an upgrade install (in the traditional sense) from XP to windows 7 so there is no way for anything to be carried over.
